Angela Fernandez, MBA, MSN, NP-C

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Angela Fernandez

Angela Fernandez is a Nurse Practitioner (NP), who started her professional career as an aerospace engineer for Boeing after completing her undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Material Science and Engineering at UCLA. Subsequently, she received her MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University. While grateful for the wealth of experience she gained working in such a highly technical industry, it was volunteering for an organization that helped survivors of the Rwandan Genocide deal with PTSD, where she discovered a passion for serving humanity on a deeper level. In 2012, while working full-time as a registered nurse in urgent care, Angela completed her Masters as a Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University, graduating summa cum laude. She was very fortunate to have received her clinical training from the industry’s top physicians in functional medicine and bio-identical hormone restoration therapy (BHRT), including Dr. Marcela Dominguez and Dr. Prudence Hall. Today Angela is a board certified NP by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of Institute for Functional Medicine.

Patients working with Angela will receive personalized care and a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating chronic illnesses. She applies the best of conventional, as well as functional medicine to address the underlying cause of illness and create a customized treatment plan for patients. Her background in physics gives her a unique perspective and understanding of the human body. Her areas of particular interest include detoxification, BHRT, and autoimmune disorders. Angela is also committed to lifelong learning and makes it a priority to continually attend conferences and lectures that feature innovation and cutting edge medicine. She also hopes to one day return to her roots and spends at least two weeks every year providing medical care to third-world countries in South East Asia and South America.
